Our office is located in Southwest Florida, and as posted on our blog last Wednesday our office hours and operations were disrupted by the impending Hurricane. Sunday afternoon through Monday morning, most of Florida was under a state of emergency and our area specifically was in the middle of a direct hit from a Category 3 hurricane.
We are deeply grateful for the love and well wishes sent our way through the weekend, and for everyone holding safe spaces and keeping us in their thoughts and hearts. We are certain this played a large part in the Clinic itself suffering virtually no damage from this storm!
Despite no damage to our physical building, about a third of our staff is still not able to return to work as they are dealing with damage to their homes and/or no power. Several are still trying to return home after evacuating. As of right now, only a couple staff members have internet access or any means to address email inquiries.
All email inquiries will have longer than usual response times.
Our top priorities for this week will be:
- Restoring our phone and data servers, which were turned off last week to minimize potential damage.
- Establishing communications with our carriers and determining when package pickups are available for our area, as gasoline is an emergency commodity and in very short supply in this area.
- Rescheduling and rearranging appointments to prioritize the counselors' schedules in a way that is fair for those who lost appointment times due to office closures, without penalizing those who were already waiting on scheduled appointments.
We have received numerous inquiries regarding orders. Please understand that due to the Labor Day holiday and then closures for Hurricane Irma, we were open only three days last week. Of those three days, one day consisted of less than half the typical number of staff members due to preparations and evacuations. While we are working as quickly as possible, normal order processing times are delayed and until the servers are back up we cannot check any order statuses or provide tracking numbers. All orders will be shipped as soon as possible, however not all order status inquiries will be able to be answered.
We want to thank everyone for their patience and concerns for our safety! We look forward to being back on track and returning to normal response/shipping times as soon as possible!!!
